SUHOLIDAY: FAQ
Unsure about something? Afraid to ask the mod (why would you be) but you're really, really confused? This might help! (^__^) QUESTION: I'm having difficulty understanding my recipient's prompts. Can I ask her to explain/expound on them? ANSWER: Definitely! However, you'll have to course it through the mod. Please send an email to suholiday@gmail.com for questions of concerns on all prompt-related matters. QUESTION: I got an email from suholidaymod@gmail.com, but you said up there that the email you're using is suholiday@gmail.com. Which one is it, really? ANSWER: Gmail has a cap on the number of emails you can send out in a day. While sending out assignments, I encountered this problem, and this is exactly why I had to set up the "suholidaymod" Gmail account. Please always send your emails to suholiday@gmail.com, though. (^___^) QUESTION: Am I allowed to write just one prompt? ANSWER: Nope, you are not limited to choosing just one prompt. You can combine prompts or even write all of them! Sky is the limit! QUESTION: Am I allowed to write multiple fics for my recipient? ANSWER: By all means! The more, the merrier! You can write one fic per prompt, two per prompt — it's up to you, really. Just be sure to let me know during the check-in (will be discussed below). QUESTION: What is a "check-in"? ANSWER: A check-in is a draft of your fic, with at least 1000 words. This is more or less an assurance that you're working on something and will be able to meet the deadline. Further details on how to submit your check-in will be given as we approach the check-in date — November 6, 2013. QUESTION: If I write multiple fics for my recipient, am I required to have 1000 words per fic for the check-in? ANSWER: Listen up, and listen carefully — for participants who are writing more than one fic for their recipient, you are expected to turn in ONLY 500 words for the check-in. However, please make sure that you actually complete all the fics you plan to turn in. Suho will not enjoy seeing you turn in 500 words for two fics and submit only one fic on the final deadline. HE WON'T. QUESTION: But what if I do end up not turning in both/all the fics I wrote and just turn in one? ANSWER: You won't be blacklisted from the fic fest, but I'll keep a close eye on you. Also, Suho will frown at you. He really will. QUESTION: RL IS A B****H! *insert more expletives here* I have to drop out. I'm really sorry! ANSWER: Aww, that's okay! If you really must drop out, though, please do so on or before the drop out deadline — November 13, 2013. QUESTION: What is a pinch-hit? ANSWER: A PINCH-HIT IS A LIFE-SAVING DEVICE THAT WILL HELP PREVENT UNNECESSARY PANICKING AND WAILING! A pinch-hit happens when someone drops out and another person is given the drop-out's assignment. The pinch-hitter is required to write the same prompts AND the same pairings, but can interpret the prompts in a way that's different from the original writer's interpretation. For example, I'm a pinch-hitter and I got the prompt, "Suho/Baekhyun where Suho is a Pokemon trainer and Baekhyun is his greatest rival". The original writer turned in a draft where Suho is Ash Ketchum, but I want to make Suho Gary Oak QUESTION: Are we required to have our fic/s beta-read? ANSWER: It's ideal, but not a requirement. Also, it would be great if your beta-reader wasn't participating in the exchange! (Although there's really way for me to know if s/he is...) QUESTION: Oppa, can I add you on Twitter? (^////^) ANSWER: Yes! @suholidays is the account to follow! |
